Nurturing Holistic Learners for the Future
VFM follows the Kenya’s Competency-Based Education(CBE) integrating the Montessori system, designed to nurture holistic, competent, and socially responsible learners who can transform their communities. It integrates academic excellence with practical life skills, values, and community engagement, ensuring that every learner becomes a problem-solver and change-maker.
The idea is to prepare learners notjust to pass tests, but to thrive in real life by applying knowledge in
everyday situations. It is structured around developing competencies which means abilities that combine knowledge, skills, and attitudes so that learners can solve problems, think critically, and work well with others.VFM emphasizes on values and life skills. Learners are encouraged to develop qualities like responsibility, respect, and teamwork, alongside practical skills such as communication, problem-solving, and digital literacy. Teachers act more like facilitators, guiding students through hands-on projects, group work, and real-world tasks rather than just lecturing.
Assessments are continuous and holistic, focusing on how well learners can apply what they know as they gear towards the national exams at the end of the 9th grade that will there after propel them to senior schools of their choice.
This curriculum is more about making education more practical, learner-centered, and future-oriented. It aims to produce well-rounded individuals who can adapt to changing times, contribute positively to society, and pursue careers aligned with their passions.
